My Little Bird
My heart is a little bird

My Little Bird

Little bird, as you flit within my chest
Know we are loved, and be at rest
There’s no one to ever take our place
So don’t even worry or suggest
We’ve been replaced
My little bird

Little bird, Won’t you settle down?
This fling won’t last
It’s in the past
And I’ve told her
She can’t come around
So calm yourself little bird
And be at rest in the velvet cage
Within my chest
My little bird

I have told her if she takes him away
Then both of us will turn to dust
And no longer fly
To sweet lullabies he placed
In you and I
So please don’t cry and rest
In the velvet cage
Where once you played
And sang for us
My little bird

Dear little bird don't leave me
Here alone with an empty cage
Left to die, you've gone to fly
And now we're free
My little bird
