Pete had done his homework well for once. He now knew all the capitals by heart, from Tallahassee, Sacramento and Baton Rogue in the south to Juneau, Augusta and Olympia in the north.

He smiled confidently at Miss Evans as he received his test.

The first question read, "What is the capital of Northern Ireland?"
