I Wish I were the Lady in Red
I am present as you climb into bed Your unspoken thoughts I wish to know Thoughts of my extraordinary fashion show I saw that look in your backward glance I received it by my directed chance I am the Lady in Red to you Always, ever, in your memory’s view This goal is my well --- slated intention To capture you with womanly invention Wanting to play Leading Lady in your mind Attention to this goal has really taken time And when I am in bed beside you adoring Thoughts of this night untethered and soaring Hoping The Lady in Red is imprinted on your heart Praying for other ways to impress you with -- to God.
