I am the youngest small cat
in this cat-infested house!
My Human Folks are pack-rats--
I'm sure they've stowed a MOUSE

somewhere in all the cluttered MESS
they've dragged across the state!
Exploring causes me distress--
their housekeeping's not great!

I spend my days exploring
all the treasures that they've brought!
The work is never boring
it's the technique I've been taught

by all my older relatives,
on their hunt for random treats;
and other things They might give--
we always have good eats!

But while I am exploring,
I have to walk with care!
'Cause stuff often goes flying
and leaves me in the air

where once a solid object was!
My path's a slippery slope!
The danger stops me--gives me pause--
all I can do is HOPE!!
