RASCAL
How can I say thanks For all the years you gave to me? You came to me one rainy day Muddy, wet, needing a place to stay. You stole my heart with one look in your deep brown eyes. I knew we were bound to each other for eternity. You were my faithful companion, The guardian of my home, and my soul. You were a little rascal Playful, and loving - so you got your name. Selflessly you stood by my side Asking little in return. You were always there when I came home. The only thing you asked was a treat, You gave your undying devotion. You loved car rides, insisted I take you everywhere I went. You loved walks, and tennis balls thrown in the house, and your ears scratched. You had buddies you talked to across the fence, And you stole the hearts of everyone you met. How can I say thanks? Every part of my life is filled with you. When I think of you, it is as that playful puppy you always were. If all dogs go to heaven, then I know I will see you again. Thanks, gone, but never forgotten.
