DON'T WEAR OUT YOUR WELCOME
Just because I feel like writing doesn't mean it has to be good :-) A country song -

DON'T WEAR OUT YOUR WELCOME

I used to think that it would work out between you and me
but the way you carry on these days is wrong, far as I can see.
I've given up on tryin' to change you, it is time for you to go -
Home's not a place for you to rant and rave, better take it slow.

Refrain:
Don't wear out your welcome, don't take a chance
on losing all the good by doin' your song and dance.
Party time and drinking, smoke another cigarette -
I am thinking about leaving, just haven't done it - yet
.

I haven't got the heart to tell you, even when I'm mad
that you hurt yourself more each day and it's pretty sad.
You try to fill your life with dreams that don't come true.
maybe that's okay for some, but it's not okay for you.

Refrain:

Now I am not a quitter, but my patience is wearing thin.
When you're out late at night, I wonder where you've been.
You're not one for explanations, it doesn't matter anymore.
One of these nights you'll come home and I'll be out the door.

Refrain:

There have to be some changes made, either you or I
will have to give it up or give it maybe one more try -
My dreams are full of pain, my pleas fall on deaf ears.
The days turn to weeks, then months, and then years.

Refrain:

Wonder how it all will end, who will be the one to go?
