Identity Crisis
A look at how society affects how people view themselves.

In this life we must search within ourselves to discover who we are. Society vociferously asks of us to dispel all personality and simply transform into something we are not. Our imperious minds are convivial to the idea of being accepted, even if it is only the result of a facile surrogate of our own identity. Simply, society bolsters the idea of conformation. It is a way for society to bring individuals down to it’s level, thwarting true potential from success, solely propelling potential into a debacle. Society becomes a histrionic charade, causing the innocence of purity to consider conformation as an infallible solution to adversity. What people do not realize is that society bears a callous attitude towards individuality and depreciates who we are. Do not let the pressure of change vacillate you, instead, refrain from society’s amiable demeanor because the truth of the matter is that individuality is inscrutable. Do not allow yourself to be consumed by your own naivety. When you come to realize that you will not receive adulation for your transformation, you will realize that you have been given the liberty to be unique, and at that moment, and that moment only, you will have truly found bliss.
