Fury of the Heart
written in a rush of emotion about my teenaged daughter, who is heartbroken.

Where did your light go, my sunshine?
When did the dark, cold clouds roll in?

Frantic emotions of hurricane proportions

Reeling in the aftermath of their destructive power

Raging thoughts as fierce as a tornado force

You sit still among the debris of your shattered heart

Sudden tears flowing like a torrential rainstorm

Cries of torment as loud as mighty thunder

Eyes flash like a sudden lightning strike

A whisper, soft as the midnight wind-

“I just want this to end.”

The earth quakes under my feet

As I watch you descend into your dark abyss

A tsunami comes to sweep you away

I hope my sunshine comes back someday!
