NEW PROMPT: Write a short story or poem about a private detective following a subject, only to find out the person he's following isn't human. MY SWEET BRIEF BRUSH WITH FAME! I needed a job badly, because I was so broke! I was a young detective, I was looking for a bloke, I was following discretely, or so I really thought! I sneaked up on him briskly: it was a KITTEN I had caught! I thought my prey was human; she really fool'ed me well! I followed her by sound, not sight--she had me in her spell! She made a loud high screeching sound, as though she'd been harpooned! I knew my new job now was unprofessionally doomed! "She's not just ANY old kitten, I loudly lamented! I'd know that sweet face anywhere--it's Miss Kitty, I said!! I took her right home with me and we had our tuna fish. I promised her I wouldn't tell; I granted her that wish! She left my house the next day; she didn't know my name! And so, I can't brag much about my sweet, brief brush with fame!
