Lindsey Bell
A fictional poem about an intercollegiate softball star and honor student.

A softball star for U of L,
For classes, she’s never late.
An honor student is Lindsey Bell,
Working part-time to graduate.

An uphill battle to reach her goals,
But Lindsey remains undaunted –
Awesome beginnings, paying tolls,
A fired-up youth that’s wanted!

Practicing for a weekend match,
With dark coffee in hand,
Drill after drill, both throw and catch,
A time her coaches demand.

Preparing for a mid-term,
Then a test in Sociology,
To the answers, Lindsey's warm,
Expecting much, no apology.

It’s a home game for U of L,
Running the bases, trying to score,
Three more hits for Lindsey Bell,
As folks rise from their seats and roar!

Her parents feel so lucky and proud
To have such a wonderful daughter,
At graduation, her family so loud,
Much spirit and love, they’ve brought her!
