New Prompt! Imagine that you fall asleep in the library. When you wake up, you find you’re all alone. The doors are bolted shut. The phones aren’t working, and oddly it’s a cell phone dead zone. Tell me about your night spent all alone in the library. (Luckily, although many of the lights are off; some of them are still on.)

MY UNPLANNED LIBRARY SLUMBER!

Where've they all gone now, I wonder
An unplanned library slumber
awaited me, I perceive, under
heavy eyelids, hearing thunder!

OH HELL, I'm here all alone!
It's as silent as a stone!
I can't even use my cell phone!
I am chilled down to my bones!

All locked big bolts on the closed doors
yield no freedom from these waxed floors--
no one's here to do the night's chores;
all my pounding is ignored!

Doing research, fell asleep;
I've been loocked in, have the creeps!
My panic's settled in too deep--
and my cell won't even beep!

I'm so frightened that I want
escaape from this chilly haunt!
My sad folly, I won't dare flaunt--
I'm so hungry, I am GAUNT!!

I am overreacting--
I don't want for anything!
Escaping now would only bring
my sweet freedom--just my thing!

I COULD do my late research,
look into my favorite church,
find a new recipe for perch--
I'm not yet stuck "in the lurch"

I admit, I'm truly scared!
I know that I am aware
of my fear--I really care,
and I know I want to tear

my brown hair out at my plight,
locked in for this lonely night!
At least, glaring bright, in my sight
are obnoxious safety lights!!
