A Life Priority

The counselor asks, “What are your goals, your dreams?”

Tommy stares blankly at the counselor until his mom wakes him with a tap on the head.

“What was the question?”

“He doesn’t care,” interrupts mom.

“Tommy, your dreams?”

“I dream each day my life won’t amount to a cost of necessity.”

Mom cries, “He’s worthless.”
