life as we know it
A poem I wrote as a dear friend lay in the hospital

Life as we know it can change in a heartbeat
for good and for bad

From living your dream
to feeling bitter and sad

The warmth of a kiss
The laughter and bliss

The reckoning of anger
The paralyzer of danger

Whispers and choices left to fate
to warn a lover perhaps too late

we take things for granite most every day
we think everything will always be okay

Perhaps it will , one never knows
But perhaps it's best to stay on our toes

We should cherish every moment of every day
We should dismiss all the bad things all the dismay.

So waste no time in showing how you feel
make life worth living keep it all real

LIve not each day in fear
But like it was your one and only new year.
