If Ever You Were Taken From Me!

If ever you were taken from me,
I would not wish to live.
For nothing would console me
The way your smile did.

If ever you were taken from me,
How bitter would be life.
Replaced would be my soul’s sunlight
With the darkest, darkest night.

Thinking you could be taken from me
Is agony itself.
Knowing you are here with me,
I consider the greatest of all wealth.
