Should You Ever Leave Me
A poem about my brother and what would happen should he ever leave me

Should you ever leave me you would take a piece of me with you.
There would be tears from within my heart that may fall from my eyes.
I know that I will go on but I really don't know how.
That would be a sad day in my life.

There would be no peace within my heart.
There would be no smile on my face
it would be a hard day for me to follow the next.
I wouldn't make much sense for a long time.
There would be an emptiness within me that only you could and can fill.

I love you so very much and I know that you love me.
You and I are brothers and have been for three years.
There is no one like you.
The screams would come from within me outward.
I would find it so hard to live another day.
However, I know that you would want me to go on.

To go on would be a hard thing for me to do.
However, I know that I must go on and live with you inside.
That is where you are now as well as being physical to me.
There is a peace and contentment that only you could give me.
You come second if not first in my thoughts and heart.
I would really say that you come first to me for you are so dear to me.

So, you can take that to the bank and cash it in.
You can be assured of my heart and what is inside of it.
You live there within me.
You will and would always have a place within my heart.
That I assure you.
