New Prompt: Write a story or poem about an employe that just got fired. It can be from the employee or the employer perspective. FREE AT LAST!?! I had a most outrageous job; I let them treat me bad-- was well known in my fie'ld, but at work, I was had! They fired me one hot Memphis day-- was the WINNER at last, and all that I could do was cheer these happy words so fast: Oh, I am free at last!! You folks are in my past!! No more fights at the coke machine-- you get to keep your damn old GREEN!! Yes, I am free at last!! My car is moving fast! You've made me crazy far too long-- you've treated me so wrong! (This happened all so fast! And, how long could I last? Their stingy paychecks didn't stretch enough to let me catch my breath to find new work! I'm feeling like a jerk!! The implications are so vast-- oh, am I free at last!! So, is this REALLY free? Now, it's all up to me! to find a way to feed these cats, so should I feel such GLEE?) Yes, I am free at last! although I am agast at where I've gotten, by contrast, so, GOOD-BY to my past!
