Her Peer

Clouds yield to darkness
It's over now...

Opaque ripples massage the moon
To homage the horror below
Her dress a canvas
Imbue carnage shrieks
She remembers
their eyes
Confused
She remembers their
Thrash-carved
Flesh
She remembers
them asking
Why?
She still
Wears her
Smile

A winged shadow of nature waits
Receptive...

She tells events
Not confessions
Exposing
No motive
Reason or cause:
They were my friends
We played games
All day
Talked all night
Even the boys
Were nice
I kissed
One behind
Cabin number four.
Each counselor
Was a friend

Trees lean towards safety
Blanch...

Her eyes calm
Hesitant hue
Reflects an elegant
Normalcy.
Conscious
Bloody actions
Stain her clothes
Without moral
Concern
Done with her
Own hands

In nature's awe
A little girl
Simply
Waits
