Fallen Sparrow
Sparrow-daughter as you fall - God is near.

I gave her life, But I can't now
It's up to plastic tubes and hoses
I want to make her well, But how?
HIPPA gaurded, no one discloses

It's a very scary situation
Waiting by the nurses station
A guarantee they can't give
That my only daughter will live

I come and go all through the day
Stopping by the chapel to pray
All this anguish due to a mistake
So much pain, so much heartbreak

Too impatient to close a clamp
Around the clock I now camp
I won't leave after visiting hours
My limbs have lost all their powers

I trust only in the Great Physician
I pray for her and He does listen
A visit from our faithful pastor
Helps calm us in this disaster

The doctors would show more care
If their own daughter was lying there
Pulse and skin come back to life
In spite of a doctors careless knife

Her family has driven for miles
She's awake and they're all smiles
The hidden message in all of this is
To give daily hugs and kisses

We know not the hour or day
Death will come to take away
The ones we love so very dear
I'm just thankful she's still here

Life is short and ends all too fast
So enjoy the seasons while they last
Loved ones are most precarious gifts
They are like sand the hourglass sifts

The Lord gives and He takes away
But He chose to give one back today
Like a fallen sparrow she was raised
Great is our God, His mercy be praised
