Everybody cheered wildly. His wife blew him a brave and serious kiss. The kid he shook hands with absolutely refused to look at the burned side of his face. His buddies in the fire department smiled and crossed their eyes and somehow still looked sad. He smiled with half his face and looked perfectly delighted.
