Urdu:  Ki wafa hum say toe ghair us ko jafa kehtay haen
          Hoti aaie hay keh achchhoun ko bura kehtay haen 

English:=== Don't listen to my rival; be kind to me
                  For goodness in anyone he just cannot see
                                          -

Urdu:  Aaj hum apni paraishaani e khaatir un say
          Kehnay jaatay toe haen per daekhiay kya kehtay haen

English:=== I have come to tell you my pain and sorrow
                  O please don't tell me to come back tomorrow
                                            -

Urdu:  Aglay waqtoun kay haen yeh loag, inhaen kuchh na kaho
          Yeh mai o naghma ko andoehruba hehtay haen

English:=== You know, my love, I'm a traditional guy
                  And to drown my sorrow in the wine I try
                                              -

Urdu:  Dil maen aa jaa'ay hay, hoti hay jo fursat ghash say
          Aur phir kon say naalay ko rasa kehtay haen

English:=== You can make me cry to your heart's content
                  But I'm sure one day you're going to relent
                                              -

Urdu:  Hay paray serhad e idraak say apna masjood
          Qiblay ko ahl e nazar qiblanuma kehtay haen

English:=== Oh, I must be a fool who's totally misled
                  For why I worship is above my head
                                              -

Urdu:=== Pa e afgaar pay jab say tujhay rehm aaya hay
              Khaar e reh ko teray hum mehrgiya kehtay hay

English:=== O look from where I've come to meet
                  So please take pity on my blistered feet
                                                -

Urdu:  Ik sharer dil maen hay, us say koie ghabraay ga kya
          Aag matloob hay hum ko jo hawa kehtay haen

English:=== And it's not love, and its not desire
                  What I have in my heart is a blazing fire
                                                -

Urdu:  Dakhiay laati hay us shoukh ki nakhwat kya rang
          Us ki her baat pay hum naam e Khuda hehtay haen

English:=== They say you're proud, and it may be true
                  But you're my goddess, and I worship you
                                                  -

Urdu:  Whehshat o Shaifta ab mersia kehwaen shaayad
          Mer gaya GHALIB e aashuftanawa kehtay haen

English:=== And GHALIB tells me when I will die
                  Everyone will say he was quite a guy
