Driving through the country, plethora of stars, beyond amazing, greeted wandering eyes. Never before were more worlds clearly visible. From Rigel to Sirius, a million suns shone down upon their planets. But there was one I had not seen that blazed brighter than any other and steadily increased.
Luminescence obscured sight, pulling over, my car stalled. Windows rattled, glass dazzled. Explosion startled. Dust filled air settled slowly. Returning vision showed shattered pavement buckled beneath an enormous weight. Fallen star burned orange-red while stardust men clambered away, melted into oblivion against blackened night. Racing heart calmed as disbelief reigned supreme. 100 words Written for
