Imagination
Five today, Love life and play, Imagination brightens up the day. ‘‘How was your day at school today son? What are you learning? What have you done?’’ ‘The mindless, boring, repetitive answer, really didn’t seem that much fun’ ‘‘Had a great day at school we have been set lots of things to do’’ ‘‘What was it, anything new? Science, Geography, I bet Arithmetic’s too?’’ ‘‘No’’ ‘‘What did you do today son? Did you play sports outside? Did you have fun?’’ ‘‘We did a bit of sports and went for a run But had much more fun with the art we had done’’ ‘‘Did you have a go at drawing? Was there coloring involved? Did you draw a nice picture of the beautiful world?’’ ‘‘No, we blew up balloons, Red, green and blue, We screwed up bits of paper covering them in glue, And then stuck the bits of paper on the balloons!’’ ‘‘Wow, So what are you making? What is the task? Is it an animal? Maybe, some sort of mask!’’ ''It's meant to be a secret, An animal based in the past! It’s tall, big and scary and developing quite fast, I think it’s some sort of dinosaur, With a short grasp, I believe it’s called, A Tea- ran- oh- saw- ass!’’ ‘‘Really, sounds like quite a hard task’’ ‘‘Yes, we are working round the clock and have different jobs to do, Phil is making the eyes, Tom’s painting the scale disguise Reece is working dishing out the glue, Tessa is busy blowing up balloons, And the teacher has the blueprint, And is working on structure, So it’s strong and doesn’t move!’’ ‘‘Wow, so what are you doing son? What is your task?’’ ‘‘I’m overseeing everyone’s work, Chief of safety is my quirk’’ ‘‘So what does that involve?’’ ‘‘Making sure no one swallows glue! Making sure Tessa doesn’t pass out from blowing up balloons, And creating teeth, so the dinosaur can chew’’ ‘‘Mum and I, are both, really so proud of you!’’ Oblivious to me, The parent’s evening, Arranged the next day, Set just after Three, Ms Frocket chewing her locket Calmly gave my parents the review, ‘‘Your son has come on really well, When I see him, He’s very active in the class, But there’s just one thing I have to say!’’ ‘‘Yes’’ ‘‘Unfortunately he spends most of his time, Sitting outside the headmistress’ class!’’ ‘’What? You must have you got the wrong report? Are you sure this is my son? I believe you must be wrong!’’ ‘‘Your son is the one with the brown wavy hair, Believe me, I do know him, And I would not forget him, Because… He is a complete nightmare!’’ ‘‘But What about his involvement, in the paper Mache dinosaur task?’’ ‘‘Right and which one is that one might I ask?’’ ‘‘He said it was secret but involves everyone in the whole class’’ ‘‘Sorry please explain?’’ ‘‘Why the paper Mache dinosaur which is six foot tall, Made up of lots of papers and looking really cool, My son is chief of safety he has an admirable task, He’s designing the teeth on behalf of the class?’’ ‘‘Right I think he might be having a bit of a laugh,. As we have been working on the alphabet, And believe me that alone is a tricky enough task!’’ A.J.Macpherson
