"C"
Drip, drip, drip The poison leaks into my I.V. Sip, sip, sip The nausea meds they give to me Blip, blip, blip Monitors chirp beside my bed Tisk, tisk, tisk The doctor shakes his head The “C” cells kill the n’er do wells That I hoped would multiply Chemo is a crapshoot but he tells Me to be hopeful and to try Tap, tap, tap The lawyers pen goes as he talks Nap, nap, nap Between my daily walks Pray, pray, pray I need to know God is near Say, say, say I made difference while I was here The finer things no longer brings Satisfaction to me at all The hands that hold while hearts unfold I will miss the most of all Cling, cling, cling To life and be brave Bring, bring, bring The lilacs to my grave This life is oh so fragile And beautiful and grand I'll enjoy it for a little while Till angels come to take my hand Spin, spin, spin The world still turns in spite of tears Children will still make noise Playing with cherished toys On birthdays, Christmas, and New Years By: Kimarie Manhart-Freeman
