The Dawn
a short poem about overcoming past life issues

The long night is almost over
The darkness slowly gives way to a new dawn
The first glimpse of light in so long
Mistakes finally begin to fade
The scars slowly heal
The gaping wounds slowly close
How long I have waited, and have had faith
That the light would come
I now stand and look, and all around me a landscape appears
The things that darkness perverts now transform
A place that had looked so terrifying now holds untold beauty
I let out a cry of wonder and joy
I then sit and wonder how such things I had missed
I rejoice that the light has come and widened my view of the world
