On your 30th birthday you receive a package from your family that includes a photo album filled with pictures from your ninth birthday party. As you look through it you realize that not only do you not remember your ninth birthday party, you don't recognize the house where the party is being held, or anyone in the photos (except your nine-year-old self). What's going on here?

T’was my thirtieth birthday.
April first at my house.
A party was stirring,
thanks to my spouse!

The gifts were all wrapped
with paper and string
and piled on the table.
Soon, I’d do my thing!

The time was at hand
for me to unwrap
these special boxes
each laid on my lap.

My guests all awaited,
while I asked, “Who’s it from?”
I tore paper to find
a new photo album.

I opened it up
to see what was inside.
There I was with a cake
and a grin a mile wide.

The candles on top
numbered just nine,
but, the family around me
sure wasn’t mine!

The house seemed familiar
but was unrecognized
by myself or anyone
else who had eyes!

A puzzling moment
as I tried to think,
now where was this taken?
Then, I saw a wink.

I had been punked
of this I was sure
by a photo album
that was really obscure!

You know photo shop
is a wonderful tool!
Creative deception!
A real April’s Fool!
