Hidden where none may see, This, my Father, I desire to be; Not the steeple so tall, Stark, shining white, to be seen by all. Not the stained glass window With great beauty to forever show; Nor the old piano With its beautiful notes so low. No wish to be the tree That formed the cross where You died for me; Humbling reality- No acknowledgment waiting for me. A cornerstone for Thee, My Lord, I ask this my future be; Strong, hidden, out of sight, Yet the foundation for Your light. Standing firm, ever strong, A temple for God against all wrong, Father allow me to be A cornerstone worshiping Thee. Rhyming pattern: aabb
