The Hidden Stone
A wish for God's Glory alone

Hidden where none may see,
This, my Father, I desire to be;
Not the steeple so tall,
Stark, shining white, to be seen by all.

Not the stained glass window
With great beauty to forever show;
Nor the old piano
With its beautiful notes so low.

No wish to be the tree
That formed the cross where You died for me;
Humbling reality-
No acknowledgment waiting for me.

A cornerstone for Thee,
My Lord, I ask this my future be;
Strong, hidden, out of sight,
Yet the foundation for Your light.

Standing firm, ever strong,
A temple for God against all wrong,
Father allow me to be
A cornerstone worshiping Thee.
