Falling down from your hands, I fear the depth below. Its dark and quiet there and I dread my fate. Desperately, holding on, digging my nails into your skin and you don’t even let out a scream. I still see the same love in your eyes and no sign of the pain I’m causing. Not wanting to let me go, you hold me tight, with all your might and yet I’m slipping away. So slowly that one may miss it with the blink of an eye, but I can’t, as my palm touches yours. Empty palm with nothing to give but so much to take ‘cause life down there is unknown. Just the thought sends a shiver down my spine and I look pleadingly into your eyes, where I see the light of my last hope but I find the light dimming, as my hand slips from yours. The fingers touch for the last time and my eyes filled with fear, look into your alarmed ones, and I leave, with your face etched in my mind, forever.
