They" say that cats have nine lives. But are cats the only creatures with nine lives? Write a story or poem about some animal other than a cat which has, or had, nine lives.
A boy's concern for his dog... Superstition has it that all cats have nine lives maybe because they always seem to escape a sure demise. I have a silly notion my dog has nine lives, too. He’s narrowly escaped his death more than a time or two. He’s dodged cars and trucks and trailers, even a Greyhound bus. I think his luck is waning so, training is a must! He doesn’t see the danger in chasing garbage trucks they drop gross but tasty tidbits of stuff that’s really yuck! I’ve tried so hard to train him to sit and come and stay. But, somewhere in the long process he’s sure to run away. I know there is a school where obedience is taught. I will sign him right up today and pray it’s not for naught! Because I think right now he’s on life number ten! I do not want to take a chance That he’ll be saved again! 28 lines
