This poem is written in my darling mother's memory....past and present. Cancer claimed her life on September 28, 2003, and to this day my heart aches. I love you, mom!
"Held Them In My Hands" Held them in my hands all the while; carry them with me to this very day. Your love, laughter, and beautiful smile are in my heart, and there to stay. Cried a river of tears when cancer claimed you, although I knew you were no longer in pain. Grieved when you joined the angels too, selfishly wanting you here with me again. Held all of these things, and still do; love you for all you were and still are. What we share will remain strong and true. I smile knowing you sit on a night star. One day we will be together again, looking down on the ones we love. I carry you in my heart until then, thanking God for the pain you're free of.
