Sunsets never End
Upon my mother's death I contemplate seeing another sunset without her.

Sunsets across the open fields
Remind me of the many years,
Laughter after dinner shared
Love of beauty, thoughts, and cares.

A moment spent, reflective thought
A silent prayer for what God brought.
Passage of another day
Alone with memories, she gave.

How can beauty still be there,
Without her presence here to share.
Inside I'm dark, and ripped, forlorn.
Crying, screaming, wrenching torn.

Wanting none of beauty seen
Just to wallow in my stream
Of tears that flow at every turn
Her spirit back, I want and yearn.

But God continues sunsets clear
Reminds us of the glory near
When we will go and see her then
Where sunsets glow and never end.
