Urdu:  Teray tosan ko saba baandhtay haen
          Hum bhee mazmoon ki hawa baandhtay haen

English:=== I want the breeze to blow and blow
                  And spread my word as I crow and crow
                                          -

Urdu:  Aah ka kis nay aser daekha hay
          Hum bhee ik apni hawa baandhtay haen

English:=== My sighing and crying are of no use
                  No feelings of pity can they induce
                                            -

Urdu:  Taeri fursat kay muqaabil aey umr
          Burq ko pa ba hina baandhtay haen

English:=== Oh, life is short and the time fies
                  And a little bit of rest oh, how it denies
                                            -

Urdu:  Qayd e hasti say rihaaie maaloom
          Ashk ko bai ser o pa baandhtay haen

English:=== A life of pain is difficult to bear
                  There's moaning, and groaning, and a lot of despair
                                              -

Urdu:  Nasha e rang say hay waa shud e gul
          Mast kab band e qaba baandhtay haen

English:=== The flowers are drunk with color and bloom
                  Look, how they adorn themselves and groom
                                              -

Urdu:  Ghalatiha e mazaameen mat pooch
          Loag naalay ko rasa baandhtay haen

English:=== O yourself in moaning do not involve
                  The problems of life it cannot solve
                                              -

Urdu:  Ahl e tadbeer ki waamaandagiaan
          Aabloun per bhee hina baandhtay haen

English:=== The stragglers, look, how they operate
                  They nurse their blisters and decorate
                                                -

Urdu:  Saada purkaar haen khoobaan, GHALIB
          Hum say paimaan e wafa baandhtay haen

English:=== And the beauties, GHALIB, they are so cool
                  Look, how their lovers they lure and fool
