Just The One

I was fishing in a bed of roses, when you came along.
You asked if I had caught that many? I said "just the one".

You laughed, and we got talking, talking for so long.
Then asked if I would like a drink? I said "just the one".

We went on to the local, and joined the merry throng.
You asked if I would sing with you? I said "just the one".

We left the pub, our spirits high, feelings fresh and young.
You asked me for a goodnight kiss? and I said "just the one".

Well that was twenty years ago, with you I do belong.
You ask me if I love you still? "Yes you're still just the one".
