Give And Take

I give you love,
you take my love.

I give you time,
you take my time.

I offer you patience,
you try my patience.

You keep all yours,
but take all mine.

Our love is like a one way street,
and now I think that you should know.
You've never swept me off my feet,
emotions that you fail to show.

I give you hope,
you take my hope.

I give you truth,
you give me lies.

I give you joy,
you give me pain.

You give excuses,
you give alibi's.

And now my time with you is done,
with no regrets, no tears goodbye.
I have to say, It's not been fun,
you cannot say, I didn't try.
