Cannot be broken

The smoke cleared...you were still there.
I was surprised...you said you were leaving.
You said it was all too much..you said you could no longer wait.
But there you are still.
You said I was selfish...
you said I didn't know how to love.

And yet there you are still.

You said so many things...
so many things that should have hurt.
But see,
I do not find the truth painful.

I know...
you can expect nothing from me.
I know...
this is just a game.

See,
my heart is mine alone now.
You can never share...
it will never beat
for you...or anyone else.

You see me...
innocent and soft...
naive and often dumb...

but see...I can no longer be broken.
