A clock glows in a man's clasped hands

We had heard about this skinny guy with a beard. Skinny guys with beards are pretty common around these parts, so that wasn't a big deal.. They said that he was a carpenter and that wasn't all that noteworthy either. But when they said that he could change water into wine, well now, that got some of our attention. Most of us thought we might like to meet a fella who could do a thing like that.

So we got the day off when we heard he was up Nazareth way and we went looking for this man who some said was a big shot. We found him right off. It was still morning time. He was standing in the middle of a great throng of people. We all thought we might be too late. We feared the wine would be all gone, so we kicked our camels hard and rode right up.

We were not small men, and the people circled around the skinny guy seemed pretty meek and humble so we kind of elbowed our way through with our cups out, hoping there might be a drop or two of the wine left. When we got up there we were disappointed. Seems all these folks were saying the skinny guy had a way to tell time. We asked what they meant. They said he has a device that glows in the dark and can tell you exactly what time it is to the second. We asked what they meant by glowing in the dark. Now that would be something, huh?

So in we elbowed and got up right next to the guy. He seemed nice enough. Had his hands clasped in front of him and all the people were peering down at this thing that sure enough glowed all bright and shiny and they said, "Look there!" They said, "It is a little after ten in the morning!"

Well Izaak stepped forward and asked in that booming voice of his whether the skinny guy had any more wine to begot. Everybody said no, but that it was a little bit after ten in the morning.

So we rode home. Wish I knew where he got that thing that told the time. It glowed in the dark. That could light your way when the time was night.
