Part Il - Writing Assignment

Show me what you learned.

Write at least two paragraphs (300 words) telling us how you'd like to improve your own writing and why. Be sure to use a selection of complex sentences demonstarting at least two of the comma rules we studied in this lesson.

Below your paragraphs write out each rule you used. Highlight, with a different color or italics, the sentences in your paragraphs which demonstrate those rules.
Just a reminder: Writing Assignments ask you to demonstrate your writing craftsmanship skills and your understanding of the week's lesson. Writing assignments should be formatted, edited, rewritten and polished as if you planned to submit the piece to a publisher for consideration.

Writing is an addiction. Not something I want to give up though, but foster into a healthier habit. I am an enthusiastic, self-taught writer. English is my second language. Over the years my skill has improved, but I still have a long way to go. As part of the process to further myself, I try to read every second day and write several times a week. However, real life intrudes most of the time. I’ve joined a writing group where constructive reviews encourage me to expand my understanding. With a handful of grammar books, an avid imagination and passion to weave stories I am ready to take anything on.

Following in my father’s footsteps, I crave to write and strive for perfection. By taking self-learning course, such as the comma kazi, I can only grow as a writer.

Rule 1: Use a comma when writing a compound sentence with a conjunction
Rule 2: Use a comma after a dependent clause that starts a sentence.
Rule 3: Adjectives that are not linked
Rule 5: Nonessential (Nonrestrictive)
