Urdu:  Waarasta is say haen keh mohabbat hi kuin na ho
          Kijay hamaaray saath adawat hi kuin na ho

English:=== If our feelings of love we cannot restore
                  You're welcome to hate me but please don't ignore
                                            -

Urdu:  Chhorha na mujh maen zoaf nay rang ikhtilaat ka
          Hay dil pay baar, naqsh e mohabbat hi kuin na ho

English:=== I'm weak, and old, and beyond repair
                  And your love is a burden very hard to bear
                                              -

Urdu:  Hay mujh ko tujh say tazkara e ghair ka gila
          Her chand ber sabeel e shikaayat hi kuin na ho

English:=== When you mention my foe, it gives me pain
                  Even when I know you're trying to complain
                                              -

Urdu:  Paida hoie hay, kehtay haen, her dard ki dawa
          Yuin ho toe chaara e gham e ulfat hi kuin na ho

English:=== When for every ailment there is a cure
                  Why the pangs of love do we've to endure?
                                              -

Urdu:  Daala na baikasi nay kisi say maamla
          Apnay say khainchta houn, khijaalat hi kuin na ho

English:=== Oh, I've been crippled; I've been maimed
                  And yes, I'm helpless, but I'm not ashamed
                                              -

Urdu:  Hay aadmi ba ja e khud ik mehsher e khayaal
          Hum anjuman samajhtay haen, khilwat hi kuin na ho

English:=== I'm always absorbed in thoughts my own
                  So I'm never lonely when I'm alone             
                                              -

Urdu:  Hangaama e zabooni e himmat hay infa'al
          Haasil na kijay dehr say, ibrat hi kuin na ho

English:=== And I may be lame but I'm not tame
                  For a lack of courage is to me a shame
                                                -

Urdu:  Waarastagi bahaana e baigaangi naheen
          Apnay say ker na ghair say wehshat hi kuin na ho

English:=== In the lack of concern there may be a danger
                  Too much autonomy can make you a stranger
                                                -

Urdu:  Mit'ta hay foat e fursat e hasti ka gham koie
          Umr e azeez sarf e ibaadat hi kuin na ho

English:=== From pain and sorrow I can't get away
                  No matter how much I plead and pray
                                                -

Urdu:  Us fitnakhoo kay der say ab uthhtay naheen ASAD
          Is maen hamaaray ser pay qayaamat hi kuin na ho

English:=== And you may ignore me, or you may deplore
                  But your GHALIB will never leave your door
