Urdu:  Gaie wo baat keh ho guftogoo toe kuinker ho
          Kahay say kuchh na hua, toe kahaen toe kuinker ho

English:=== It's hard for me to talk to you
                  For you never listen even when I do
                                          -

Urdu:  Hamaaray zehn maen is fikr ka hay naam wisaal
          Keh ger na ho toe kahaan jaaen, ho toe kuinker ho

English:=== Of meeting you, darling, there's not a chance
                  I just can't think of any circumstance
                                            -

Urdu:  Adab hay aur yehi kashmakash toe kya keejay
          Haya hay aur yehi goomagoo to kuinker ho

English:=== With my regards for you I cannot insist
                  And you being coy, you always resist
                                            -

Urdu:  Tum hi kaho keh guzaara sanamparastoun ka
          Butoun ki ho ager aisi hi khoo toe kuinker ho

English:=== Someone like you is very hard to woo
                  And I do not know how the others do
                                              -

Urdu:  Ulajhtay ho tum ager daekhtay ho a'aina
          Jo tum say shehr maen houn aek do toe kuinker ho

English:=== When looking in the mirror, you get upset
                  For a siren like you is to you a threat
                                              -

Urdu:  Jisay naseeb ho roz e siyaah maera sa
          Wo shakhs din na hahay raat ko toe kuinker ho

English:=== I feel so gloomy, I see no light
                  And even my day is dark as night

Urdu:  Hamaen phir un say umeed aur unhaen hamaari qadr
          Hamaari bat hi poochhaen na do to kuinker ho

English:=== With your disdain I cannot cope
                  It's so discouraging, I have no hope

Urdu:  Ghalat na tha hamaen khat per gumaan tasalli ka
          Na maanay deeda e deedaar joo toe kuinker ho

Urdu:  Bataao us mizha ko daekh ker keh mujh ko qaraar
          Yeh naeesh ho rag e jaan maen faro toe kuinker ho

                  Your long eyelashes, oh, how they stab

Urdu:  Mujhay janoon naheen GHALIB walay ba qaul e huzoor
          "Firaaq e yaar maen taskeen ho toe kuinker ho"
