What's the worse that could happen?

“Hold the elevator!”

A man with large round glasses and orange hair – the same color as the rust on my car, Lisa thought - looked up from his book and held the door for her.

“Thanks.” Lisa smiled. “Seven, please.”

He smiled back to her and pressed seven. She could feel his eyes locked on her. She only had to go up a few floors. The elevator began to rise and suddenly came to a stop.

“What's wrong?” she asked.

“I think the elevator is stuck.” The man hit the buttons furiously. “Come on!”

“Just calm down! It'll be fixed in a minute.”

“We're stuck in an elevator! We're both going to die!” He pounded on the doors. “Open up!”

“What's your name?” Lisa asked.

“Rob, my name is Rob.” He took a deep breath and calmed down slightly. “Oh my God, I'm going to die.”

“Listen, Rob, you're not going to die. This happens all the time.” Lisa sat on the floor. She pointed to his book. “What are you reading?”

Rob sat down beside her. “It's called Planet on Fire.”

Lisa forced a smile. “That sounds great...”

Rob's face was growing pale. “I don't want to die.”

Lisa sighed. “You're not going to die.”

“No one knows we're here. We're going to suffocate.”

She had to shut him up. What if they were trapped here for hours? He would drive her insane.

She gathered all her courage and pressed her lips against his. Rob was frozen. His eyes were wide.

“Wh-wh-what... was that for?”

She kissed him again and soon their bodies were tangled together on the floor. That would shut him up for a while.
