Honorable Mention---9/28/2009}
THE TEST Am I in some kind of zone where time has stopped? How long have I been sitting here while the hands on the clock haven’t moved? The suspense is unbelievable. I want to know. I want to know! I need to know. So much depends on this! Nothing has ever been so important to me. And I wait. And wait and wait. I will the clock to move faster. At last it is done! The test is over. Time to look, time to know! Oh, it is! It is! It is really happening. I want to sing, I want to dance, and laugh and cry and I need to get my feet back down on the floor. The door opens and he comes in looking tousled and sleepy. I must have woken him when I cried out with joy. I show him the little wand with the two lines clearly showing. His face lights with a smile and we hold each other rejoicing. 165 words
