                                Ghalib Urdu 73


Urdu:  Bisaat e ijz maen tha aek dil, yak qatra khoon wo bhee
          So rehta hay ba andaaz e chakeedan sernagoon wo bhee

English:=== There's no much blood in my poor little heart
                  From much more of it I simply can't part
                                          -

Urdu:  Rahay us shoukh say aazurda hum chanday takalluf say
          Takalluf ber taraf, tha aek andaaz e junoon wo bhee

English:=== Oh, she has given me a lot of pain
                  No more will I take it; it's totally insane
                                            -

Urdu:  Khayaal e merg kab taskeen dil e aazurda ko bakhshay
          Meray daam e tamanna maen hay ik sayd e zaboon wo bhee

English:=== Sometimes I say I would like to die
                  But on a wish like this I cannot rely
                                            -

Urdu:  Na kerta kaash naala, mujh ko kya maaloom tha humdam
          Keh ho ga baais e afzaaish e dard e daroon wo bhee

English:=== And my moaning and groaning are of no use
                  My intense pain they cannot reduce
                                            -

Urdu:  Na itna burrish e taegh e jafa per naaz fermaao
          Meray darya e baitaabi maen hay ik moaj e khoon wo bhee

English:=== In her cruelty she takes a lot of pride
                  And I do not mind; I take it in stride
                                            -

Urdu:  Mai e ishrat ki khaahish saaqi e gerdoon say kya keejay
          Liay baithha hay ik do chaar jaam e wazhgoon wo bhee
   
English:    Any good from my fate I do not expect
                And whatever it gives, I cannot reject
                                            -

Urdu:  Meray dil maen hay GHALIB shouq e wasl o shikwa e hijraan
          Khuda wo din keray jo us say maen yeh bhee kahoun, wo bhee

English:=== But the pain of her absence is my biggest bane
                  And about it, GHALIB, I've a right to complain
