Outside My Window Outside my window flowers grow Many birds seem to know That I would feed them all the time If I could simply watch them dine. A red-winged black bird called my name How odd he knew just what to say Outside my window he would dine I could watch him all the time. A loving cardinal couple came Again I thought I heard my name Outside my window they were fed Blackbird’s gone, now they’re red A tiny little hummingbird This is what I thought I heard If you will give me what I need I’ll let you watch me as I feed. A flock of geese were flying high I only hoped that they’d stop by But they kept flying on their own Hurrying to get on home I went outside to get some air A mockingbird tore out my hair He came at me more than twice Until I wasn’t very nice. Now my yard is safe and sound No mockingbird to come around Outside my window they still dine I could watch them all the time.
