LESSON THREE, DT 3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For my own writinvg, I am so goal-driven right now that it is inconceivable to create a story without some version of epiphany, however small! For me, right now, life is only measured in victories and do-overs. As in, I DO until I have what I consider to be a victory, or I do it over until I declare victory. I think that is my aim with writing, too. Things I read have to have some up-beat element of victory, too. Since I am new at stories, right now they follow the Freytag Model, more or less. The protagonist need not win by convention definition, but must make some discernable breakthrough!
