THE MUSE, THE POET AND THE READER--MY PERSPECTIVE
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ THE MUSE. ------------------------ The poem :The Muse" by poet Karen M. Crump states methods of inspiration and the receiving of poetry that I am ib total agreement with. When I feel one of my poems "coming through," as I refer to it, it is as though I am receiving dictation from something within myself, something I can't ignore or refuse. As I've learned to listen to this undefined, uninspires voice, I have received a number of satisfying and self-defining poems. I especially like the notions of the Humbled Ear and the Connector. THE POET ------------------------------------------------------------ This clever piece acknowledges that the words don't come from the poet alone, but instead are generated and received by the muse cooperating with said working poet!! THE READER ---------------------------------------------- This piece affirms that the poem enters a third realm after leaving the inspirating world of the muse and the creating world of the poet--that third world being that of the reader,, who is priveleged to take the work for yet a third spin and wrestle meaning from it according to how it strikes his/her mind and fancy!
