Prompt Number 10 – No one seemed to mind.
When I was brought into this world, no one seemed to mind,
and as I lay within my crib, no father could I find.
My early youth was spent in vain, yet no one seemed to mind,
and as I grew into a teen, no family could I find.
From home to home I carried on, but no one seemed to mind,
and as I grew into a man, few were close or kind.
When I left to go to war, no one seemed to mind,
for on that bloody field I lay, my hopes were left behind.
When I lay with terrible dreams, no one seemed to mind,
for in my silent agony, none were close to find.
When I looked for help and praise, no one seemed to mind,
for in the depths of spiritual rage, no comfort could I find.
For many years I toiled and cried, but no one seemed to mind,
my life was doomed to bitter wrath, life was never kind.
No one seemed to mind at all, when I neared the final end,
but in a place I never sought, I found a loving friend.
Now in his arms he holds me tight, and wipes away my tears,
Jesus Christ my giving Lord, has cleaned away my fears.
