Friendship comes in gentle waves
of fellowship and time.
Shared in moments round a fire,
laughter, jokes sublime.
Drinks of questioned substances,
chocolate, rich and pure.
Talks of dreams and times to come
confidences sure.
These the times of beauty shared.
These the mem'ries gained.
These the simple pleasures sought.
These our peace obtained.
Through these times a love is grown,
quiet, deep and strong.
Unsought patience for the goal,
hearts for God we long.
Together in the fray we ache,
yearning for the balm,
of Giliad's refreshing salv
for battered souls to calm.
Friends are neither bought or sold
nor money can obtain.
The Lord of love brings two or three
to gather in His name.
There His grace abounds to hold,
souls close, dear and true.
I thank the God of endless love
who brought me both of you.
