my brave elfin adventure

While traipsing in the woods one cool day,
I passed a tree and it began to say
"come closer to me; I've a change to make!"
Then, low and behold, she began to shake!
Out popped a young elf, dressed from head to toe
in purple petals; he began to glow
with pride at being spotted; underbrush
didn't hide him! He then began to blush
with trepidation as the rain began,
so I picked him up, protecting, and ran
for shelter, but it was too late to save
him from starting to melt; I bravely gave
him my warm jacket to restore his breath
because I didn't want to watch his death!
I dried him gently as the sun returned!
And refreshed now, he happily adjourned
back to his waiting tree, its warm embrace,
and then he disappeared without a trace!!
