The Chase

To and fro,
back and forth.
Like a yo-yo.

    Under a chair,
    to wait it out.
    It's just not fair!

          I take a little peek,
          hope the coast is clear.
          Time for hide n seek.!

              I need another way,
              take off along the wall.
              Another busy day!

                    Scurry across the floor,
                    looking for a place to run.
                    Heading for the open door.

              Speeding towards the rail,
              maybe he won't see me.
              Oh little legs don't fail.

          The colors I've seen,
          orange and black blurs.
          Must be Halloween!

    Dive in a hole,
    catching a breath,
    no, not a mole!

Just a mouse,
tease the cat,
all through the house!
