Children Come Back
A little poem for Halloween.

Sometimes they come back,
with their galloping, giggles, and tee-hees;
playing jokes and pulling pranks,
casting blame on those who can be seen.

Images of the once-alive,
now joined the had-to-bes.
Ignoring the barriers, heightening the thrill,
rewarding those who believe.

Now the memories of no-longer-certains,
passed by the minds of what-it-once-was.
Run!  Jump!  Play! O' apparitions
for it is here you no longer belong.
