Victorian Apparitions
        by Morgan Lynn  (dragonbeards@Writing.Com)
Women in dresses, men in suits,
petticoats, buckle-down shoes.
Yards and yards, laces and string,
weighed down, bodies abused.

Ghosts of the time unable to make it,
unable to float or fly,
clothing creating too much a bearing,
spooks grounded, much as they try.

So they resort to walking like humans,
though seen they remain not.
No one is scared of a grounded apparition,
For this they remain distraught.
